In today’s Cowtown Half Marathon, Rebel Angela Escay exceeded her coaches expectations and ran a 1:17:59 for the win. As a runner who is looking to qualify for the Olympic trials, this is a fine bench mark.
Other standout Rebel performances in the half were:
Charlie Brenneman – 1:17:13
Kevin Cimini – 1:29:11
Kevin Pedrotti – 1:25:33
Steve Bond – 1:31:29
Ron Souza – 1:31:51
Just one day prior, the Rebels Alex Varner continued his assault on the Pacific Association Cross Country circuit with a blazing time of 19.08 for a very difficult 3.5 miles at the Presidio Cross Country Challenge.
With a quarter mile to go Alex was closing in the the first two runners in front of him. The second place runner from WVTC was just three sceconds ahead of him. Every race he seems to get stronger.
He was followed by Gus Gibs and Jeff Bruins, Andrew Garai, Cristian Morinico, Mike Styczynski, Jared Doescher, Joe Ostini and Neil Gullickson.
