Andy Harris “The Streaker”

Rebel co-founder Andy Harris is an OG whose running lineage dates back to the golden era of the 1970s. He became inspired to lace up after watching running great Frank Shorter in the 1972 Olympics. Once his high school track coach got wind of his skills, he never looked back. Andy has been running for 50 years and has not missed a day of running for the last 24 years. These days he runs for enjoyment, time with friends, and health benefits. He runs between ten and twenty races each year. Below are some of his impressive personal bests:
Marathon: 2:35
20 Mile: 1:57
Half Marathon: 1:13
10 Mile: 55:15
10k: 32:55
5K: 15:53
Mile: 4:46
Ron Souza “Rocket Ronnie”

Ron started running at age 16 and has been running for over 40 years. Another Rebel OG, he was inspired to run by junior high school intramural track meets where he set the 2 mile record in 12:06. Ron runs for the sense of freedom, likes how it helps him solve things, and how it clears his mind. One of his favorite running memories is running a 2:42 at the Sacramento marathon (predecessor to the Urban Cow Half Marathon.) Aside from being a formidable competitor in today’s 70 male age group, Ron boasts some very impressive PRs:
Marathon 2:39
Half Marathon 1:12
10 Mile 54:22
10k 33:28
5k. 16:10
Kevin Cimini “Mr. Consistency”

Kevin’s illustrious running career began in 3rd grade when he won an all class race, and from that moment on it was “off to the races.” As a freshman in high school he competed in track and cross country, logging roughly 35-40 miles per week at La Sierra High School in Carmichael. (He did not run in College.) To quote Kevin, he “was part of the running boom” of the ‘70s, also inspired by Frank Shorter’s ‘72 Olympic marathon win. He’s been competing his whole life and says his best years were from age 25-32. Still running and competing, he coaches cross country at Granite Bay High School. Kevin’s formidable collection of PRs include:
Marathon 2:37
Half Marathon 1:14
10 Mile 56:00
10k 32:30
5k. 16:00
Ruben Rodriguez “The Mayor”

If ever the term “run happy” applied to anyone, it would be Ruben. He got into running in elementary school just for fun, encouraged by his teachers. This built his self-esteem and gave him a positive focus, the value of which he passes on to young people today. Ruben ran cross country and track in high school at Delta High in Clarksburg, which he terms, “the first McFarland, USA.” Later on, his friend Ramon Jaime encouraged him to run his first CIM, clocking an impressive PR of 3:05. These days, Ruben’s infectious personality serves the team well, as he has attracted a whole new cadre of Rebels.
